The Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM lens. The EF 28mm lenses are a group of prime lenses made by Canon that share the same focal length . These lenses use the EF type mount that fits the Canon EOS line of cameras. When used on a camera body with an APS-C sensor, such as the Canon EOS 700D, it provides a narrower field of view, equivalent to a 45 mm
Has full-time manual focus. Canon EF 24-70mm F/2.8L II USM. Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 STM. With full-time manual focus, you can move the focus ring whilst it is in AF (autofocus) mode. This means that you can make manual adjustments once the AF has finished, without changing to manual mode.
A great example of this trend is the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, a really excellent wide-to-medium range zoom with image stabilization. then skip this and go 24-70L or wait for the rumoured
Options. 10-02-2018 08:19 AM. I would go with the EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM. I owned the EF 28mm f/1.8 USM briefly but sold it because I found it was not sharp wide open. Most reviewers say the EF 28mm f/1.8 USM is soft wide open, and even when stopped down to f/2.8, it is still not as sharp as the IS lens wide open at at f/2.8. Mike Sowsun.
The 1995 EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM doesn't have it. The EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM does. The now discontinued 2001 EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM also has IS, and you may be able to find a used copy of that lens for not much more than a new copy of the 1995 non-IS lens.
The EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS has the same f/2.8 maximum aperture as the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM so both lenses will perform the same. At concerts your 70-200 f/2.8 likely performs better, because you are zoomed into where the stage lighting is having an impact on exposure, and a wider angle lens is covering darker areas in addition to the stage lit
I like the image better out of the Sigma vs. the EF mkII. My copy of the EF mkII has a magenta shift (as many Canon lenses do) that in this case goes just a bit too far IMO. The Sigma rivals (though is bested by) the RF 24-70/2.8 IMO in terms of sharpness, contrast, color rendition, distortion, and flare resistance.
